In collaboration with partners such as FH Salzburg and the Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg, we systematically analyze the entire value chain—from production to storage, transport, and retail—to identify opportunities for waste reduction and valorization. Together with technology partners like NOVAPECC we promote the transition to an energy-efficient, renewable-resource-based economic system. Digital tools from vcg.ai help us connect diverse stakeholders and drive transformation through data-based decision-making. Using lifecycle assessments, we systematically identify and evaluate value creation potentials—paving the way for new circular business models aligned with the principles of a sustainable bioeconomy.
CEFoodCycle: Circular Economy in the Food Sector – value resources, reducing CO₂
As part of Circular Economy Hubs in five Alpine pilot regions, we work with partners to identify potential for reducing food waste and CO₂ emissions—such as avoiding overproduction and packaging waste in the hospitality industry. Companies from manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and energy sectors benefit from knowledge transfer, networking, and a digital decision-making tool based on life cycle assessment data. In this way, we promote concrete resource savings and strengthen circular competitiveness in the Alpine region.
